OUR PROGRAM

Explorer Club provides the flexibility to choose and pay for only the days you wish for your child to attend. We provide an environment where children can learn, take part in supervised recreation, and build strong, positive relationships with responsible, caring adults and with their peers within the school community. We also offer a variety of fun field trips for kids of all ages.

Our program is all-inclusive and children play and work with grade levels kindergarten through fifth grade, thus building lasting relationships with friends of all ages within the school.

In addition, Explorer Club participates in Cherry Creek's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) program. PBIS is a way to build a safe and effective school environment where academic and behavioral growth is supported. When students demonstrate good behavior (helping teachers and other students, showing respect, following directions), they receive Explorer Bucks which they can spend on Fridays in the Explorer Store.
Daily Activities
Every day, students have access to numerous different materials and activities designed to enrich their learning, give them an outlet for creativity, and a space to play and grow. Students are given a chance to choose which activity they would like to participate in. Below are some examples.

+ Building materials including Legos, K'Nex, Lincoln Logs, and more
+ Dramatic play including puppets, dolls, dress up, masks, and more
+ Leader-led craft and free art with materials including markers, paint, stencils, paper, yarn, and more
+ Indoor and Outdoor Recreation including the playground, leader-led gym games, and free play
+ Technology time on iPads
+ Games including board games, puzzles, cards, and more
+ Books for every reading level
+ Science learning materials including magnets, Moon Sand, planets, and more
+ Math learning materials including flash cards, math games, multiplication machines, and more

Homework Club​​

Each school day, students have the option to attend homework club led by certified Dry Creek teachers. Students can work on any homework that has been assigned for the week or choose to read a book. Homework club is held from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM or until each student has completed his or her homework.

Field Trips
​
Explorer Club goes on field trips many times throughout the year. In the summer, we field trip Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We also go during Spring Break, Fall Break, and some other full days. Field Trips include visits to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Denver Zoo, Denver Metro area parks and restaurants, Nickle-a-Play, mini golf, Littleton Town Hall Arts Center, Holly Pool, Colorado Rockies games, and more.
